In a high voltage fixture between the two most successful teams of IPL, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) posted their highest total against Mumbai Indians (MI). Ambati Rayudu’s blitz of 72 from 27 balls, Moen Ali and Faf du Plessis’ fifties helped CSK register 218.
The ex-Mumbai Indians batsman, Rayudu went berserk on Saturday scoring the 3rd fastest fifty for CSK. Rayudu hammered 4 fours and 7 sixes striking at 266. His 72 off 27 helped Chennai go past the 200 run mark. Coming into bat on a set stage, Rayudu struck the ball cleanly as he squeezed the most expensive over off Jasprit Bumrah.
Jasprit Bumrah, Mumbai’s spear head of pace bowling, didn’t have quite a good night. Going up against in form Chennai, who have lost just one of their last six games, he went for a hefty number of runs.
Bowling the 17th over, he was struck for 21 runs in the over. He gave away two fours and one six of a no-ball.
