IPL 2021,RCB vs CSK: CSk beat RCB by six wickets; Dhoni and Raina complete the chase with 11 balls remaining

Royal Challengers Banglore was up against Chennai Super Kings in today’s IPL action.

CSK won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Dhoni and Company managed to out class RCB once again in all dimensions.

CSK with this win is back at the top of the points table with 14 points.

Dwayne Bravo got awarded with the Man of the Match for his splendid bowling performance of 3/24 in four overs.

Match Summary

Both Virat Kohli and Padikkal came into the game with a different intent today, both of them were playing with the positive approach.

Both Padikkal and Kohli started in an aggressive manner and finished 55/0 in the first batting powerplay.

By the first 10 overs of the innings, Virat and Padikkal joined 90 runs for the team without any loss.

It was seeming as if, RCB will finish with more than 200 runs on board. Both Padikkal and Kohli completed their half centuries.

Bravo gave CSK the first break through in form of the skipper himself. Virat got out after scoring 53 runs of 41 balls.

This was the comeback point for the men in yellow. RCB lost no wickets before the 14th over and 111 runs.

After that it was all CSK. CSK bowlers got wickets on small intervals and managed to stop RCB on a score of 156, which was earlier seeming to be double ton score.

RCB could only manage to put 156 runs on board at the loss of 6 wickets.

The chase was not so difficult for CSK considering their strong batting line-up.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf Du Plessis came into open for Chennai. Both of them put up a great start and good opening partnership of 71 runs.

CSk lost both their openers at the score of 71, it was seeming to be the comeback point for RCB.

But Ambati Rayudu and Moeen Ali had something different in mind. Where RCB’s middle order failed to perform, Raydu and Ali made sure their team are in a winning position.

Harshal Patel did manage to send both of them back to pavallion but the work was done.

Raina and Dhoni steered the rest of chase and confirmed the victory for their team.

CSK chased the target of 157 with 11 balls remaining and won the match by 6 wickets.

CSK are back on the top of the table, the way they are playing their spot in the playoffs seem to be confirmed.

RCB for now is safe but if they do not perform well ahead in the tournament, their spot will be in crisis.
