Cristiano Ronaldo struck twice for Juventus to power the Serie A defending champions to third in the table on Monday. Juventus strolled to a 3-0 home win over bottom side Crotone in Serie A at the Juventus Stadium. The victory keeps Andrea Pirlo’s team in the Serie A title race with 45 points from 22 games. Ronaldo has now 18 goals for Juventus this season.

Juventus were sluggish to get going, but Ronaldo made it 1-0 when he met an Alex Sandro cross in the 38th minute to give Andrea Pirlo’s side the lead. Another header in first-half stoppage time doubled Juventus’ lead. The Portugal forward moved back to the top of the league’s scoring charts on 18 goals.

Ronaldo could have had yet another hattrick in the first-half itself but he his touch to a cross went wide. Weston McKennie added a third goal from close range after 66 minutes after Crotone failed to clear a corner.
Juventus boss Pirlo said, “The desire we have to return to the top makes me feel comfortable. The attitude of the players also pleases me.”
“When we have more players free from injury, I will have more choice and this also makes me feel comfortable. We know that Inter are a great team and we know we have to fight [to win the title].”
Ronaldo eyeing Serie A milestone
Cristiano Ronaldo has now scored against every team currently in Italy’s top flight. Crotone became the 78th different team Ronaldo has scored against in Europe’s top five leagues.
Only Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored more since 2000, with the Milan star having netted against 79 different clubs.
The Portuguese star netted his 17th and 18th goals of the Serie A season on Monday, as he leads the Serie A goal tally.
