PSL 2020: Haris Rauf’s ‘apology celebration’ after dismissing Shahid Afridi – Watch

Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf sent the social media into a frenzy after dismissing Shahid Afridi with a jaffa in the Eliminator 2 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). But it was his ‘apology celebration’ which went viral after sending the former Pakistan cricketer back in the hut.

Afridi, more popularly known as Boom Boom Afridi, is known for his devastating knocks if he gets going. Defending 182, Lahore Qalandars needed the prized wicket of the Multan Sultan. The exciting young talent cleaned up Afridi with an inswinging yorker.

Rauf, who got called up for Pakistan’s upcoming New Zealand tour, once again proved his worth as he returned with a match-winning figure of 3/30. Post his dismissal of the former senior cricketer, the Lahore Qalandar speedster explained why he celebrated with an apology.

When asked by the match commentators about his celebration after sending Afridi for a duck, he said, “he’s a senior player and I pre-planned the celebration if I managed to get him out.”

In a high-octane clash, the Lahore Qalandars emerged triumphant over Multan Sultans. Batting first, Qalandars registered 182 on the board credits to South African all-rounder David Wiese’s 21ball cameo of 48.

Chasing the target, Multan Sultans started strong. Adam Lyth’s rapid 29 balls 50 gave them the foundation for the chase. However, losing wickets at crucial moments saw Sultans fall short of the target by 25 runs. Wiesse returned with 3 wickets beside Rauf.

The Pakistani pacer also became the leading T20 bowler with most wickets. “Yes, I knew about it when I got the second wicket,” he quipped. Qalandars will take on Karachi Kings in the final of PSL 2020 on Tuesday.
