Team India was set to clash against the Proteas in three test matches, three one-day international and four T20s from 17th December.
With Covid-19 new variant spreading it’s wings, BCCI and CSA has decided to reduce the series to 3 Test and 3 ODIs.
CSA has also announced the updated schedule for the Indian tour. The first test match will be played at Centurion on December 26.
Virat’s New Ranking
Virat Kohli has been on a down track for some time now.
He lost the ODI captaincy after he stepped down from the T20 Captaincy.
Virat Kohli’s form has been not so promising, it’s been two years since his last century in any format of the game.
He has been in top 10 test batsmen ranking in spite of all this.
Virat Kohli who was earlier on the 6th Rank on the list has slipped down one position and is now on the seventh position.
David Warner who has played some great knocks in the first two test matches has displaced Virat Kohli for the sixth position.
Rohit Sharma is still on the fifth position in the current ranking but he will be Missing the test series against South Africa because of an Injury and might suffer a downfall in ranking because of that.
Virat Kohli would be leading Team India for the test series against Proteas and will be having a chance to get up on the rankings again.
Hopefully, Virat Kohli once again would perform really well and lead India to their first ever series win in South Africa.
