T20 World Cup 2021, AUS vs BAN: Adam Zampa grabs 5 as Aussies finish Bangladesh on 73

T20 World Cup is in the super 12 stage and Australia is up against Bangladesh in the first half of the double header.

Australia really need to win this match by a huge margin at all cost to get ahead of the Proteas and finish in the top two of their table.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. Aussies bowled out Bangladesh on the score of 73 by the 15th over.

Adam Zampa grabbed 5 wickets for 19 runs in his four over spell. This is the best bowling figure by a bowler in this T20 World Cup 2021.

Match Summary

Australia won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first. Naim and Das came to open the innings for Bangladesh.

The openers failed to gave their team a start as Liton Das got out in the first over itself. Starc dismissed Das on a golden duck.

Soumya Sarkar came at number 3 but got out in the very next over after scoring 5 runs of 8 balls on Josh Hazlewood’s delivery.

Bangladesh received another blow in the third over as Mushfiqur Rahim got out after scoring just 1 run of 2 balls on Maxwell’s delivery.

Aussies threw Bangladesh on backfoot as they grabbed 3 wickets on the score of 10 by the third over.

Naim and Mahmudullah progressed the scoreboard for a while but Hazlewood gave Bangladesh another blow just before they could think of recovering.

Naim got out after scoring 17 runs of 16 balls in the sixth over.

Adam Zampa gave Bangladesh another blow in the very next over as he dismissed Afif Hossain on a four ball duck.

Bangladesh lost their fifth wicket by the seventh over on the score of 33. Mahmudullah and Shamim Hossain joined 29 runs but Adam Zampa gave Aussies another breakthrough before the partnership could get bigger.

Shamim Hossain got out after scoring 19 runs of 18 balls. Adam Zampa dismissed Mahedi Hasan on the very next ball on a golden duck.

Bangladesh lost their skipper Mahmudullah in the 13th over to Starc. He got out after scoring 16 of 18 balls.

It was all over for Bangladesh from here and remaining formalities were completed by Adam Zampa as he dismissed both Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam in the same over to complete his 5 wickets haul.

Bangladesh got all out on the score of 73. Australia will have a target of 74 in front of them and they will be looking forward to chase it as soon as possible.
