TATA IPL 2022 finally lifted its curtains with the clash of Kolkata Knight Riders against Chennai Super Kings in the first match of the season.
Kolkata Knight Riders and Shreyas won the toss and elected to bowl first and managed to restrict CSK on 131 at the loss of 5 wickets
Umesh Yadav grabbed two Crucial Wickets in his four over spells for just 20 runs and lead the KKR bowling attack.
MS Dhoni smashed a crucial and unbeaten half century of 50 runs of 38 balls and helped CSK reach a respectable total.
KKR in Powerplay
Dhoni and Jadeja steadily progressed the scoreboard from there and avoided any further breakthroughs.
They joined a crucial 70 runs partnership and helped CSK bounce back from the backfoot.

Dhoni alongside Jadeja smashed 47 runs in the last three overs of their innings and even completed his half century.
He lead CSK to a respectable and fighting total of 131 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Although the score isn’t big and stopping KKR would not be an easy task.
Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer came to open the Innings for Kolkata Knight Riders and chase the target.
Both of them provided KKR with a steady start and KKR managed to not lose any wicket in the powerplay.

They joined a 43 runs partnership in the powerplay with Rahane scoring 27 runs and Venkatesh Iyer 16.
Although KKR faced their first blow as soon as the powerplay came to an end in the seventh over in form of Venkatesh Iyer to Dwayne Bravo.
Venkatesh Iyer returned to pavalion after scoring 16 runs of 16 ball in the seventh over.
