Tokyo Paralympics: On Saturday, Indian para-athletes added two more medals to their tally in the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics.
Manish Narwal, a 19-year-old shooter, won gold in the Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 event, while Singhraj Adhana took silver.
This is India’s third gold medal at the Paralympic Games.
Narwal won the gold medal with a score of 218.2, a Paralympic record.
Meanwhile Adhana, who had won bronze in the P1 men’s 10m air pistol SH1 event on Tuesday, added a silver with a score of 216.7.
Sergey Malyshev of the Russian Olympic Committee won bronze with a time of 196.8.

At the Asaka Shooting Range, Adana qualified for the medal round in fourth position with a total of 536.
Meanwhile Narwal qualified in seventh place with a total of 533.
Akash, the other Indian in the competition, finished 27th in the qualifying round and did not advance to the final.
Because the handgun is held with one hand only, competitors in the SH1 category have a disability that affects one arm or leg, such as amputations or spinal cord injuries.
The mixed 50m air pistol competition is classified as P4.
Some shooters compete while seated, while others compete while standing, as required by the rules.
Meanwhile the other two gold was won by Avani Lekhara in shooting and Sumit Antil in Javelin.
India’s medal tally rises to 15 in Tokyo Paralympics with 3 golds, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals. India ranked 35 in the medal tally.
