Tottenham defender Danny Rose held, released after accident

national and Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of rash driving. Rose was involved in a dangerous accident which left his car in pieces but the Primer League footballer escaped unharmed. He was later released from Northamptonshire police station under investigation.

Reportedly, the 30-year-old smashed his car into a central reservation of the A45 in Northampton. The impact left Rose’s car with only three wheels and its bumper hanging off, as reported by The Sun. Northamptonshire police spokesperson informed, “We can confirm a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving on the A45 in Northampton shortly after 4 am today.

“The suspect is currently being held at a police station in the county and, as such, it would be inappropriate for Northamptonshire Police to comment further at this time.”

Rose, who has not been a part of the Spurs team this season, is reported to be offloaded by Jose Mourinho come January. With a history of mental health issues, Rose was also examined by a force medical examiner.

Spurs, who were at the top of the Premier League table have now lost 2 games on the trot which saw them slip to sixth place ahead of the Boxing Day fixtures. On Wednesday, however, they reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup after beating Stoke City 1-3 away from home.

Gareth Bale flicked in a 22nd-minute header from a Harry Winks cross to give visitors the lead at the Bet365 Stadium. Stokes was back in the game from an equaliser by Jordan Thompson, who beat Hugo Lloris from close after Jacob Brown’s pass in the 53rd minute.

Weathering the storm, Spurs once again were in the lead when a low shot from outside the area by Ben Davies in the 70th minute made the score 1-2. And it was finally Harry Kane who sealed the win for Jose Mourinho’s team. The England national team captain blasted into the top of the net from close range in the 81st minute.
