Chelsea and Manchester City, two heavyweights of England’s Premier League, will meet in the Champions League final in Porto, Portugal, on Saturday for the largest prize in European football. Two English teams will play for the largest club tournament in European football for the second time in three years.

The Champions League trophy, probably the most popular worldwide showcase event in club football, will return to England, highlighting the Premier League’s supremacy as Europe’s top competition.

Why the shift of Venue?

Covid-19, of course, puts a pall on the final, which is only being held in Porto because to a last-minute decision to shift the game from Istanbul.

For the second year in a row, the Turkish capital was denied the opportunity to host the event when the UK government placed the nation on its travel blacklist, making it difficult for fans of either finalist to travel to the game from England.
