One of the most popular celebrity couples of India, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are celebrated members of Bollywood and the world of cricket, respectively. The couple has won millions of hearts in their fields of work and also by their philanthropy and awareness about social issues.
In these unprecedented times of a global pandemic, the benevolent couple has been extremely charitable and thoughtful about those in need.
The duo recently opened up a shelter for stray dogs, which Kohli credits entirely to Anushka’s vision. She has been extremely active and vocal in the field of animal rights and was named PETA’s “Person of the Year” in 2017. Around the same time, she announced that she has turned into a vegetarian so that no animals have to suffer for her meals.
In a touching video shared by Anushka Sharma, the couple can be seen playing with and feeding dogs at their own house and at animal shelters.
“Looking after the welfare of animals is a cause very close to my heart now as Anushka is very passionate about this issue. Her vision to help stray animals across India is truly inspiring for me and since I have met her, I have tried to understand more about animal rights and the urgent need for medical assistance for strays. It is our dream to create a safer space for the stray animals of our city,” the Indian cricket team skipper said.
The couple was also seen interacting some underprivileged children. Fans have often shown their appreciation for the couple for their generosity and their warmth and humility is truly what the world needs today.
