8 Ways To Extend The Capacity Of The iPhone Battery On IOS 16

Published Date:

Users frequently complain the rapidly depleting battery life of new updates, and iOS 16 is no exception. This is mainly because to system processes running in the background that are out of our control, such syncing and indexing. Some of the causes are listed in this page, but occasionally the battery drain problem persists for a longer period of time. Whatever the reason, MacRumors has provided some advice on how to increase battery life when necessary, such as when travelling and other situations. Notably, it won’t disable many of the key capabilities; instead, you must strike a balance so that you can switch features on and off as necessary to extend battery life.

HOW TO EXTEND THE CAPACITY OF THE IPHONE BATTERY ON IOS 16

DISABLE KEYBOARD TACTILE FEEDBACK

When using the on-screen keyboard, Apple incorporated the haptic feedback feature in the iOS 16 upgrade, which unquestionably drains the battery.

Apple warns in a support document that keyboard touches may reduce battery life. It is not enabled by default, but you may disable it by following these directions:

  • Open Settings.
  • Then select Sounds & Haptics.
  • Now select Keyboard Feedback.
  • then turn off Haptic.

DEACTIVATE LIVE ACTIVITIES

The battery life in iOS 16 is significantly improved by disabling the feature. Here’s how to do it:

  • Open Settings.
  • To unlock the iPhone, go to Face ID & Passcode and input your passcode.
  • Down the page, disable live activities.
  • Through the settings, you can also disable the feature for each programme separately.
  • The Interactive Island can’t be turned off completely, however you can swipe left to stop any currently playing animations.

DELETE LOCK SCREEN WIDGETS

When you need a longer battery life, create a lock screen without any widgets so you can add them later. The iOS 16 update supports multiple lock screens, and you can easily switch between them. Widgets constantly appear on the lock screen, and many of them are updated in the background, which means they also use battery power. There is a pre-iOS 16 capability that allows the widgets to show up on your home screen as well. To extend the life of your battery, we advise against using it.

THE ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY SHOULD BE OFF

Apple has clever tricks to turn off the screen when the Apple Watch is not present, indicating that the owner of the iPhone is out of place, or the iPhone is in the pocket, but despite all of this, it is a feature that drains the battery. The screen uses a refresh rate of 1 Hz to conserve the battery.

Follow these steps to disable Always On Display:

  • Open Settings.
  • Then select Display & Brightness.
  • Disable the Always On display option.

AVOID USING THE ICLOUD SHARED PHOTO LIBRARY

With iOS 16.1’s iCloud Shared Photo Library feature, you may share a photo library with up to five other people. This allows for the upload, editing, and deletion of photos by all users. Using the iCloud Shared Photo Library could cause photos from other people and your iPhone to sync at the wrong times, wasting battery life. Alternately, a configuration that only permits Wi-Fi syncing can be activated.

  • Click on Settings.
  • Go down to the photos.
  • Tap on cellular data.
  • Turn off your mobile data.

DEFINE THE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH APPLICATIONS MAY ACCESS THE LOCATION

Battery life can be increased by limiting which apps have access to your location and how frequently they use this information.

  • Open Settings.
  • Select privacy.
  • Then select Location Services.
  • Click on the names of the applications in the list to view the list and change the settings.

RESTRICTION OF APPS USING BLUETOOTH

Many apps wish to access Bluetooth to monitor position or look for devices like Chromecast or other gadgets for pointless purposes. The iPhone notifies you when an app has made this request.

It’s helpful to check apps that use Bluetooth to make sure none of them are cunning enough to connect to Bluetooth sources without your knowledge and drain your power. You can access Bluetooth settings by:

  • Launch Settings.
  • Select Privacy.
  • Click Bluetooth.

Most of the time, apps like Facebook, HBO Max, Hulu, and others don’t require Bluetooth access. Therefore, disable any app that doesn’t require a Bluetooth connection to function. You can immediately turn on a feature in an app again if it stops functioning.

AVOID ANIMATED WALLPAPERS

With iOS 16, Apple introduced some amazing animated wallpapers. Additionally, an animated wallpaper may slightly drain your battery faster than a static one, so pick one that won’t run continuously. For instance, the Weather wallpaper adjusts according on the weather. Additionally, the Photo Shuffle option cycles through a number of photos during the day. Based on the current circumstances, the astronomical background also varies.
