Spotify has announced the launch of a DJ tool powered by artificial intelligence. Users will be able to obtain automatically crafted playlists based on their music listening preferences, taste, and history, thanks to the newly implemented feature. The functionality is now in beta testing and could soon be available to a wider audience via a stable version. The feature is now available in beta versions of the Spotify apps for Android and iOS.
Spotify’s beta version for Android and iOS now has a new AI DJ feature, according to an official release from the Swedish audio streaming and media services provider. The feature is accessible via the Music Feed area of Spotify’s mobile app’s Home page.
The functionality takes the form of a card with the play on DJ button on it. When a user touches the Play button, the app uses the user’s listening habits and music taste to create a playlist that matches. Users will also be able to listen to featured short commentary on songs and performers selected just for them.
Users can also skip a song that is now playing by clicking on the DJ button at the bottom right of the screen, similar to how Spotify’s shuffle feature works.
Spotify has been spotted improving its AI and machine learning skills in order to improve consumer listening experiences. The most recent development appears to be a step forward for customers who want to use audio streaming platforms like Spotify to discover new music and increase their music library.
The programme also includes a discover feature, which allows users to find songs, albums, and artists based on their listening habits. However, this is the first time a tool to discover music has made its way to the Spotify app’s primary music player, and it is expected to change the way people listen to music on the audio streaming app.
