Homegrown telecommunication company, Bharti Airtel, has announced to offer a free recharge pack to about 55 million low-income customers.
The, which will be offered as a one-time gesture, will aim to keep the low-income customers connected during the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, the company also announced to provide double benefits with its Rs 49 recharge coupon.
According to the company, these benefits would help 55 million low-income customers to endure the COVID-19 crisis in the country.
This announcement comes hours after a plan to offer 300 free minutes for outgoing calls per month was revealed by Reliance Jio. According to the plan, Reliance Jio will continue its offer throughout the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
Airtel offers talk-time worth Rs 38, 100 MB data, and 28 days of validity with its Rs 49 recharge pack.
“Through this gesture, Airtel will empower over 55 million customers, mostly in rural areas, to stay connected and have access to critical information when needed,” the company said.
