Apple could be shifting the future of its devices with move to microLED displays

Apple is expected to incorporate microLED panels in its next wearables, according to rumours. It is thought that the forthcoming Apple Watch Ultra, which is scheduled to debut in 2024, would feature the improved display technology. According to a newsletter that Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman delivered to readers, it is currently believed that the whole product range of the Cupertino-based tech business will eventually move over to microLED screens. It might take an entire decade for Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and Mac models to get the upgraded displays installed. With reduced reliance on outside display suppliers like Samsung Electronics and LG.

Gurman supported his earlier assertions in the most recent edition of his newsletter Power On, in which he declared that the business would employ custom microLED displays in all of its products after the Apple Watch Ultra introduced them in 2024. shoppingmode On its shoppingmode iPhone, shoppingmode iPad, and Mac models starting the next year, Apple may transition from its present OLED panels to microLED technology.

The Cupertino-based tech company believes that this strategy will help it become less dependent on companies like LG and Samsung Electronics.

Gurman predicts that in late 2024, the Apple Watch Ultra will have the brand’s first microLED screens. The shopping mode iPad line, the shopping mode iPhone lineup, and finally the shopping mode Mac models may all use the display technology after that. The transition will undoubtedly take some time for the business, and microLED displays on Macs may not be accessible for up to ten years.

Samsung also plans to use microLED displays in its forthcoming Galaxy series of wearables, joining shoppingmode Apple in this endeavour.
