The fourth generation iPad Air from 2020 largely resembles the tenth generation iPad’s revised appearance and specifications, which were first introduced in October. A breakdown of the new base iPad by iFixit reveals some fascinating details, including why it doesn’t support the second-generation Apple Pencil and how challenging repairs are.
Removing the 10.6-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD shows an inside design that is remarkably similar to the 2020 iPad Air. The primary distinction is that the new iPad 2022 features the first iPad selfie camera to be oriented horizontally, and that decision eliminates room for the magnets that were previously utilised on iPads to aid attach the Apple Pencil 2.
