New Delhi: Apple iPhone 14 series is all set to arrive this year and the tech world is abuzz with rumours, speculations and leaks. Apple is set to introduce the new iOS 16 at the annual developer conference at WWDC 2022 in June. According to experts, the new iOS will boast the most talked about “always-on display”, a new technology in the iPhone series. Latest leak suggests that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to launch globally in September 2022. If the leak from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is to be believed, the new iPhone powered by iOS 16, will come with the always-on display feature.

There is more speculation about the upcoming iPhone 14 variants, but tech enthusiasts are expecting an improved camera, low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) display, longer battery capacity and Type-C support in the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

While Apple hasn’t released any official statement on the speculated leaks, it’s one of the reasons for the curiosity of Apple iPhone fans. There is also speculation that the Cupertino-based tech giant will bring exclusive features to its iPhone 14 variants that, while unclear, should be game-changers in the iPhone lineup. The device will be powered by an A16 chipset, and if we talk about price, the iPhone 14 Pro could start at $1099 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max could cost $1199.

iPhone 14 Pro renders reveal new colours

Meanwhile, the renders of the Apple iPhone 14 series continue to surface online ahead of the smartphone’s launch later this year. A reliable graphic designer once again revealed the high-quality renders of the iPhone 14 Pro. Interestingly, they look similar to CAD renders of the iPhone 14 Pro that were leaked earlier in the month of April.

These alleged renderings support claims that the iPhone 14 Pro models will feature a pill-shaped hole-punch cutout on the front instead of the notch seen on the iPhone 13 Pro series.

Graphic designer Ian Zelbo (@ianzelbo) shared highly detailed design renderings of the iPhone 14 Pro on YouTube in collaboration with Front Page Tech channel’s Jon Prosser (@jon_prosser). They provide a clear view of the pill-shaped hole-punch slot on the TrueDepth camera. The smartphone appears to have narrower bezels, which should give the phone a slightly larger screen size as compared to the iPhone 13 Pro.

iPhone 14 camera upgrade

Meanwhile, a recent report from Korean website etnews suggested that the selfie camera of iPhone 14 series may get a major upgrade. The report claims that Apple is reportedly looking to buy high-end selfie cameras for its iPhone 14 series. Moreover, it is considering a deal with LG Innotek for the supply of the camera, alongside Sharp.

If true, this would be the first time that the front camera of an iPhone will include a shooter made by a Korean company. Also, Apple will in future designate selfie cameras as high-end components in the future, instead of the previously used low-end ones.

LG Innotek’s camera was originally been planned for use on the iPhone 15, but Apple recently pushed the schedule in a hurry. If the report is true, the iPhone 14 models will support autofocus on their selfie snappers. Moreover, the unit price of the front camera of the iPhone 14 has reportedly almost tripled compared to previous models.

The reason given is that some quality problems occurred during the quality inspection of the cameras made in China. However, there are not many sources to support the rumour, so just take it with a pinch of salt.
