In a good news for prepaid BSNL subscribers, the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has launched a cheaper recharge plan with a new First Recharge (FRC) of Rs 47.
This plan is applicable to only the new customers going to recharge for the first time.
The plan offers benefits such as voice calling, data and SMS for 28 days. With this move, BSNL looks to grow its subscriber base, which is currently between 110-120 million.
BSNL ranks fourth behind Vodafone Idea in terms of subscribers. And there is a huge gap between the third and fourt-largest telecommunications companies in the country. As of December 31, 2020, Vi’s subscriber base was 269.8 million.
BSNL Rs 47 plan details
The new offer from BSNL provides unlimited benefits for voice calls (On-Net/Off-Net/Local/ STD) in Home LSA and national Roaming. MTNL roaming areas: Mumbai and Delhi are also included.

It offers 14GB of data and 100 SMSes per day. According to BSNL, the freebies will be valid for 28 days. For just Rs 47, new BSNL customers can benefit from the unlimited combo plan.
Furthermore, the company said that other terms and conditions are in line with the premium per minute plan PV 107.
This means that FRC 47 has an initial plan validity of 100 days. After that, customers must recharge again to keep their BSNL SIM card active.
BSNL has unveiled the FRC 47 as a promotional offer applicable until March 31, 2021. This plan is available for new users in Chennai and Tamil Nadu Telecom Circle.
However, it is expected that it will be introduced in other circles soon.
