Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, stated on Saturday that in the event that the microblogging network is taken out of the app stores, he will create “alternative” cellphones to compete with Apple and Android handsets.
Everything began when a person tweeted, “Elon Musk should create his own smartphone if Apple and Google remove Twitter from their app stores. The snooping, bias iPhone and Android would be cheerfully abandoned by half the country. A dumb little smartphone needs to be simple for the man who makes rockets to Mars, right?”

- Musk replied: “I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone.”
- On Musk’s post, a number of users commented.
- While one commented, “I bet he will revolutionize the smartphones,” another said, “I feel somehow like this plan is already in the works.”
Twitter’s CEO announced on Friday that the microblogging service’s ‘Verified’ feature would likely return on Friday of the following week and that all verified accounts would be “manually validated before check activates.”
After experiencing confusion on the site due to fraudulent accounts with blue badges impersonating real accounts after paying $8, Musk had earlier halted his $8 Blue subscription service with verification. He announced that he will relaunch it on November 29 and make it “rock solid” this time.
