Starlink, the satellite Internet division of SpaceX, has finally registered its business in India. The Elon Musk-led company documents were filed with the government this Monday. This comes as Starlink gears up to launch Internet services here in the country.
A local unit of Starlink Satellite Communications Private Limited will allow it to apply for future licenses. As the company eyes broadband and other satellite-based communication services.
As we all know that Starlink is launching small satellites as part of a low-Earth orbiting (LEO) network.
This will help provide low-latency broadband Internet services globally. It will be a big development in terms of telecommunications.
Moreover, Starlink will work with a special focus on remote areas in India that terrestrial Internet infrastructure struggles to reach.
But the company will also have to face its rivals like Amazon’s Kuiper and OneWeb. The latter one is co-owned by the British government and Bharti Enterprises in India.

Starlink plans to carry on the business of telecommunication services in India. This will include satellite broadband Internet services, content storage and streaming, multi-media communication, among others.
Apart from this, Starlink will also deal in devices like satellite phones, network equipment, wired and wireless communication devices, as well as data transmission and reception equipment.
