Users of social networking site Facebook, photo sharing app Instagram and Messenger reported glitches across the world on Thursday.
According to outage tracking website Downdetector, the outage began around 3 PM in India. According to social media users 70 per cent of the issues were related to news feed, 17 per cent were faced in the website, while 12 per cent occurred while logging in.
The tracker also showed that on Facebook Messenger, the outage began around 3 PM. 40 per cent problems were suffered while connecting to the server, 35 per cent occurred while receiving texts and 23 per cent while logging in.
On Facebook app, 66 per cent Indian users faced difficulties while logging in, 22 per cent faced issues on the mobile app, while 11 per cent struggled with images-related issues.
Facebook confirms outage
Facebook also confirmed that some of its users were facing problems while sending messages on its platforms. “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” a spokesperson of the company said, according to Reuters.
