Your name, gender, and date of birth must be the same in both documents for Aadhaar and PAN to be linked. The taxpayer may be asked to change their name in either the Aadhaar or PAN databases if the Aadhaar name is entirely different from their name in the PAN database and the connection fails.
PAN will stop functioning as of April 1, 2023, after the final deadline for linking PAN to Aadhaar on March 31, 2023.
You can change your information in the PAN or Aadhaar databases so that both have the proper information if you are unable to link your PAN and Aadhaar because your name, phone number, or date of birth are incorrect.
The UIDAI website states that “One Time Password (Aadhaar OTP) would be supplied to the cellphone registered with Aadhaar in case of any small inconsistency in Aadhaar Name provided by taxpayer when compared to the actual data in Aadhaar.” Taxpayers must make sure that the gender and date of birth on their PAN and Aadhaar are identical.
