Google turned 23 today. The internet search giant is celebrating its 23rd birthday Monday. Doodle too is celebrating the big day on its homepage.

Featuring a cake with ’23’ written on top of it, it is Google’s way of birthday celebration.

Although, Google came into being on September 4, 1998.

But after seven years it decided to shift the celebrations to September 27 to coincide with the announcement of the record number of pages that this search engine was indexing.

In 1997, Sergey Brin who was a graduate student then at Stanford University along with Larry Page built a search engine together in their dorm rooms and developing their first prototype.

So, the term Google has its origins in the mathematical term ‘googol’. It refers to one followed by hundred zeros.

Alphabet Inc is a collection of companies. The largest of which is Google.

Alphabet, the parent company of Google is involved in everything from the development of electric cars to space things.

But running such a big name is not an easy thing on earth. Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai in 2019 was warned that describing the company’s Incognito browsing mode as ‘private’ was problematic.

But the search engine kept staying the course. There are aplenty of issues and challenges as the world grows and markets flood with information and resources.

Google has made things easier for human beings. Be it official literate programs or for other purposes, Google is always there for you.
