Soon, WhatsApp will allow you to pin your favourite messages, just like Twitter. According to reports, users will soon be able to pin messages inside of chats and groups on the Meta-owned messaging service WhatsApp.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature would allow users to pin essential messages to the top of the conversation. When a message is pinned and the recipient has an outdated version of the app, the app will display a message in the discussion requesting an update to the most recent version that is currently available in the store.
Furthermore, by enabling users to quickly access critical communications, pinned messages will improve organisation in groups that get a lot of messages. The option to pin messages within chats and groups is currently being worked on and is anticipated to be introduced in a subsequent application update, according to the report.
The messaging service is reportedly developing a new feature that would let users create calling shortcuts, according to a report on Thursday. The function will be useful for users who frequently phone the same person and don’t want to repeat the procedure of launching the application and looking up the contact each time.
