The security service continues to keep track of issues reported around the world, and people in the nation are understandably concerned about Edge browser use on Windows PCs. Since the new alert has been given a high severity level, any security flaws can only be resolved by updating your system’s Edge browser version.
“These vulnerabilities exist in Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based) which could be exploited by a remote attacker to gain elevated privilege and bypass security restrictions on the targeted system,” CERT-In stated in its vulnerability post.
The note also warns that Microsoft Edge browsers running on versions prior to 109.0.1518.61 may be affected by this security flaw, which might make them susceptible to attacks from malicious parties. If the attackers manage to get past the protection and gain access to the system, they can easily infect the device with malware to steal data or spy on the user.
