Instagram services were down for thousands of users on Thursday morning, according to Downdetector.com, a website that tracks outages.
More than 27,000 incidents of people reporting issues with the social media platform were recorded by Downdetector, which collates status reports from multiple sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.
The outage graph on Downdetector indicated a surge in reports at around 7am, with over 50% of the reported outages relating to server connections and 20% being related to login issues.
The UK had approximately 2,000 affected users, while India and Australia each had over 1,000 reports, as per Downdetector.
