Nothing, the company formed by Carl Pei, one of the co-founders of OnePlus, might have a brand-new sub-brand up its sleeve. A new brand dubbed “Particles by XO” may be introduced as a spinoff of Nothing, according to tipper Kuba Wojciechowski, who spoke with 91mobiles. According to a recent tweet, the business is preparing to introduce a new product in the US. There may be a new sub-brand announcement during the launch. Kuba found a firmware with “Particles by XO” marked as manufactured by Nothing. Along with the moniker, the tipster also posted pictures of what appears to be the first set of TWS earbuds from the new sub-brand.
New brand from Nothing, Particles by XO, is about to launch
While Particles is the name of the future audio product, it is still unclear if the Nothing branch is known as “Particles by XO” or simply “XO.” The name has previously been registered as a trademark in the US by a fictitious firm. Kuba was able to find some pictures of the Particles by XO TWS earphones as we wait for Nothing to formally introduce this new sub-brand.

First look at Nothing’s new TWS earphones
Images released by Kuba depict totally wireless earphones with a highly distinctive appearance and a well-rounded, peanut-shaped design aesthetic. When inserted into the ear, the body will be facing upward due to its L-shaped form factor. The last picture appears to be a charging case for earphones in the form of a puck.
Overall, the design is simple and less “transparent” than the Nothing Ear (1), which is perhaps why Nothing intends to introduce the earphones under a different name.

The new “Particles” sub-brand may be aimed at a more fashion-focused consumer in the US market given the earbuds’ unusual shape. After all, the company did just introduce the Nothing Ear Stick in a lipstick case-like style.
About the upcoming Particles by XO earphones, we do have a few more significant things to provide. The earphones’ first designation is B154 (the Nothing Ear 2 is named B155 internally). Second, the firmware from Nothing’s servers reveals that LHDC (Low Latency High-Definition Audio Codec) and ANC will be included in the TWS earbuds (Active Noise Cancellation). Therefore, we’re probably looking at a high-end, stylish set of earphones that is about to be released in the US.
