Asus, Nubia, and BlackShark are a few of the top competitors in the market for smartphones specifically designed for gaming. With Lenovo exiting the gaming phone market, there will be less competition for these companies and fewer options for customers to consider.
The following is Lenovo’s official response to Android Authority on the abolition of the Android gaming smartphone brand Legion:
As part of a larger corporate transition and a consolidation of its gaming portfolio, Lenovo is ending production of its Android-based Legion mobile gaming phones. As a pioneer in gaming hardware and software, Lenovo is dedicated to growing the gaming industry across form factors and concentrating on areas where it can add the greatest value to the world’s gamers.
Like previous gaming smartphones, the Lenovo Legion provided handsets with a flagship CPU, a faster refresh rate display, and a fashionable appearance.
The most recent smartphone from the company was the Lenovo Legion Y70, which included a 144Hz refresh rate display and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. This appears to be the brand’s most recent gaming phone. The smartphone was only offered in a small number of areas, and it was never exported to nations like India.
