Meta tightens rules for online women safety and privacy with new features

Meta-owned platforms Facebook and Instagram will soon get new features for online women safety.

These are targeted towards the online safety of women. Not only this, the social media giant emphasized it has been taking various steps towards women’s safety.

It is in the process of developing stronger policies against bullying and harassment against women on its platform.

Launched in Hindi and 11 other Indian languages, it aims at enabling more women users to access information that will help them maintain their privacy and safety.

It will be the Women’s Safety Hub that will have all the safety resources while navigating the social media platform.

The resource will immensely help journalists, women leaders and survivors of abuse.

Not only this, it also contains video-on-demand safety training.

Women’s safety and privacy have been a major concern for a long.

Moreover, Facebook in a report cited to have removed over 18 million posts of which 2.3 million pieces of content were related to adult nudity and sexual activity.

It will be available in multiple languages, like Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Bengali, Odia, Assamese, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Meta says it is building a safe online experience which has been its priority.

These new initiatives aim to help women to have a better social media experience. It intends to allow them to learn, and engage without any challenges, said Meta.
