Microsoft had conducted an investigation into Bill Gates‘s alleged affair with an employee almost two decades ago. It was informed in 2019 of his attempt to start a romantic relationship with that person.
After reviewing the matter, the board held a ‘thorough investigation’ with the help of an external law firm.
But it didn’t reach a conclusion to the probe because Bill Gates had stepped down before it was completed, Microsoft says.
However, Bill Gates last year had said that he was stepping down from the board to devote more time to philanthropy.
Bill Gates co-founded the software company in 1975. He served as its CEO until 2000. He was the chairman until February 2014.

After the biggest announcement of separation, the internet bombarded with differing views from people all across the globe.
However, the couple also clarified that the divorce wouldn’t stop both from working on Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
