The 1.20 update for Minecraft has an official name now, and it’s not the end, the combat, or even the desert update, despite months of speculative guesses and anticipation. The official name for the update is Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Tales, which is what one would anticipate given all the recently published features in Bedrock Previews and Java Snapshots.
Confirmed: Minecraft 1.20 Trails and Stories Update!
Developers have officially confirmed the Minecraft 1.20 update name via a YouTube video, putting an end to the community’s wildest ideas. The name of the update combines every new feature, including camels, inventive armour trims, the Sniffer (the winner of the Mob Vote 2022), archaeology, and more. It’s funny how the update came to be here after beginning as the first unnamed in Minecraft Live 2022.

Also, it appears like the developers are benefiting from the new strategy of introducing one new feature at a time and developing it in response to community comments. Hence, it appears quite likely that even Minecraft 1.21 and following versions won’t have a name until most of the features have reached their completion.
When will Minecraft 1.20 be released?
Although we don’t yet have a release date, it appears that the upgrade is essentially finished. Hence, the 1.20 update should launch on compatible platforms by the end of April, if not later.
But, if the developers want to test new features more, the game might not launch until June.
Nonetheless, the wait for new Minecraft content isn’t that long. The upcoming game Minecraft Legends gives a distinctive perspective on the current overworld. Do you believe the name “Trails and Stories” really describes the qualities of Minecraft 1.20 after all? Do you have another idea in mind? Inform us in the remarks section below!
