Chinese-owned short video app TikTok met with US. Republican Representative Mike Gallagher on Wednesday to discuss U.S. data security policies, but the politician still intends to work to have TikTok banned from the country, a spokeswoman for the lawmaker said.
In a meeting with Will Farrell, interim security officer of TikTok US. Data Security, Gallagher, the Republican chair of a select committee on China in the US. House of Representatives, was present.
According to Gallagher spokesperson Jordan Dunn, the legislator “valued their time but found their case unpersuasive.”
