Samsung has made an addition to its rugged smartphone series by launching the new Samsung Galaxy XCover 5, which will be made available for purchase later this month.
According to Samsung, Galaxy XCover 5 has been designed to meet the demand of the increasingly mobile workforce. Galaxy XCover 5, though designed to withstand a tough work environment, is widely considered an easy-to-carry-around device.
“The Galaxy XCover 5 is a device that addresses the challenges employers in the field often face, from ensuring the protection of sensitive material to durable use in any environment. Whether on the factory floor or in extreme heat, rain or snow in outdoor conditions – it can keep up with the demands of the job, while improving productivity and increasing collaboration to make day-to-day work easier and more efficient,” Mark Notton, Senior Director of Mobile Product Portfolio, Samsung Electronics Europe said in a press statement.
The Samsung Galaxy XCover 5 sports a 5.3-inch HD+ TFT display. The handset is powered by an octa-core Exynos 850 processor which is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. It runs on Android 11 right out of the box. The device receives power from a 3,000mAh battery and does support 15W charging.
The phone offers a single 16-megapixel camera. For selfies and video calls, it has a 5-megapixel camera. Samsung Galaxy XCover 5’s other features include- XCover Key, integration of walkie-talkie function in Microsoft Teams, and IP68 rated water and dust resistance.
According to the claims made by Samsung, the touch screen of the phone will follow the commands even it is given a hand covered with gloves.
