When we go overboard to buy better gadgets, tech companies are trying extremely hard to treat us even more by adding flagship-level capabilities to mid-range goods. With the brand-new Sony WH-CH720N, it appears that is what Sony is attempting. This is how the product performs when marketed towards consumers eager to try active noise-cancelling headphones in the sub-10K area.
Design
Faux leather earcups are on the Sony WH-slick CH720N’s plastic body. Even on extended walks, the ear cups fit snugly and rest solidly, however comfort is a personal preference, especially with audio equipment. The top of the headband, which is padded, is soft and flexible as well.

Sound Performance
Talking to Myself by Linkin Park is reproduced well by the Sony WH-CH720N. Without being overly bass-heavy, the WH-CH720N achieves a decent balance between bass and treble.
Even though Active Noise Cancellation is not the best option, it is enough. Although it is able to block out adjacent noises, it is unable to do so for the water cooler’s continuous background droning and the sporadic ear-splitting voice.
Battery power
I found that it delivered over 30 hours of mixed usage with ANC on during the one week I had it for the evaluation, including hours spent attending online classes on Google Meet, 2-3 hours of video editing on Premiere Pro, and listening to music while taking my regular walk.
The headband also has a quick charge capability, which allows for a 3 minute charge to provide close to an hour of use. This will be very practical because it will allow for a short charge prior to an hour-long virtual meeting on MS-Teams.
