OnePlus has announced another 8T model, this time with a colour-changing phone. The OnePlus 8T concept phone switches between dark blue and light silver when the metal oxide inside the glass casing gets activated. For this, it uses electronic colour, material and finish or ECMF technology.
It has been linked to the phone’s mmWave radar, so the phone will change colour when it receives the 5G signal.
A new art-based OnePlus studio with designers in New York, India, Shenzhen, and Taipei has created the OnePlus 8T Gaudi.
According to OnePlus, in the future, ECMF could be used to make a phone display the colours for an incoming call, as well as a breathing monitor, with the phone changing colours to record a user’s breathing.
