Instant messaging app WhatsApp will not limit the functionality of the platform for those who have not accepted its new privacy policy, the company has said.

“Given recent discussions with various authorities and privacy experts, we want to make clear that we will not limit the functionality of how WhatsApp works for those who have not yet accepted the update,” a WhatsApp spokesperson was quoted as telling The Verge.

“No one will have their accounts deleted or lose functionality of WhatsApp on May 15 because of this update,” WhatsApp has said, clarifying the company’s stand on the privacy policy on its support page.

“We will continue to display a notification in WhatsApp providing more information about the update and reminding those who haven’t had a chance to do so to review and accept,” WhatsApp said on its support page, adding that the reminders will not persistent.
