WhatsApp Pay: Follow these steps to add bank account on Android, iPhone

With approval from the National Payment Corporation of India, WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app, is now ready for online transactions.

Proposed by the App the first time in 2018, the payment feature took two years to get approval for its live appearance on United Payment Interface in November this year.

However, WhatsApp on December 16, 2020, announced that its payment service has been started with State Bank Of India, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank for Indian users. WhatsApp users can now send and receive money through the WhatsApp Payment.

To use its payment services on WhatsApp, users first need to add a bank account on WhatsApp. Before you start the process to add your bank account, make sure you have an active account at an Indian bank. Your account must support the Unified Payment Interface. The number of your WhatsApp account should match the number associated with your bank account.
