The calls tab has already been made available to a limited amount of WhatsApp beta users, according to a report in Wabetainfo. The social network, which is owned by Meta, updated WhatsApp beta in October, adding a new application sidebar.
The calls log will be displayed on the sidebar alongside the Status & Chats List, making it simpler for WhatsApp users to browse through the platform’s chosen tab. This next upgrade will appear in WhatsApp’s call history. The new call tab appears as soon as the software is launched on a desktop.
- When you select the option, a drop-down window displaying the user’s call logs on WhatsApp desktop will appear.
- WhatsApp users will soon be able to make calls on the app from their desktop app thanks to this sidebar displaying a user’s call history.
- The updated beta of WhatsApp for Windows, version 2.2246.4.0, was made available on the Microsoft Store.
However, because the feature is currently in development, not all WhatsApp users will be able to utilise it.
Whatsapp new features, you need to know
WhatsApp is also developing a new upgrade that will enable users to link the same account to a second smartphone and introduce companion mode to the instant messaging service.
The beta version of the update states that users of WhatsApp can connect up to four Android phones to their main account and have access to all the standard features of WhatsApp, including message encryption. On whether the capability will be added to iPhone and Apple devices, there are no recent reports.
