WhatsApp vs Signal: Amid concerns over the new WhatsApp privacy policy, the users of the Facebook-owned messaging platform are switching to Signal, Telegram or other alternative apps.
As WhatsApp is facing heat over the new privacy policy, Telegram and Signal have suddenly gained popularity. Both these apps offer most of the features of WhatsApp.
However, there are some features that are missing in Signal.

In WhatsApp, users get the feature to star any message they want in a chat. This feature allows users to bookmark specific messages to for a quick access later. Personalised QR codes
WhatsApp users get an option to add a contact by scanning a personal QR code. This QR code is available right next to the name of the user under Settings in WhatsApp.
Status updates
This is a very popular WhatsApp feature which is missing from Signal. Users can share share text, photo, video, and GIFs with others and they disappear after 24 hours. Customised wallpapers
Using this feature, WhatsApp users can choose and set different wallpapers for different chats. However, this feature is not available on Signal.
WhatsApp Payment

Browser support on Desktop
Signal do not allow users to use the platform on a web browser, however it does allow you to link devices with a single account.
