However, there are some features that are missing in Signal.

Let’s have a look at them:

WhatsApp vs Signal:

In WhatsApp, users get the feature to star any message they want in a chat. This feature allows users to bookmark specific messages to for a quick access later. This feature is not available in Signal, which is touted as the best alternative to WhatsApp. You can check more WhatsApp alternatives here.

This is a very popular WhatsApp feature which is missing from Signal. Users can share share text, photo, video, and GIFs with others and they disappear after 24 hours. WhatsApp also gives an option to hide the status from select users. Meanwhile, here’s how you can see other contact’s status without letting them know.

So, in case you still want to switch to Signal, check out the steps to move WhatsApp Group To Signal App.

Live location sharing

Although Signal allowed you to share locations via the app itself but it does not allow users to share live location. On the other hand, WhatsApp supports this feature.

See who is online

When a contact is online, WhatsApp by default shows the status and there is no option to do away with this. On the other hand, this feature is not there on Signal. Meanwhile, there is a cool WhatsApp trick to check if someone is online without going online.

Browser support on Desktop

Signal do not allow users to use the platform on a web browser, however it does allow you to link devices with a single account.
