A tragic explosion occurred at an illegal firecracker factory in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, leading to the deaths of five people. The blast, which took place on Wednesday evening in Kalyanpur village, also caused eight nearby houses to collapse, trapping several people under the debris. Local residents, along with police and fire brigade teams, are conducting rescue operations to find survivors. Authorities have expressed concerns that more individuals may still be buried under the rubble.

The illegal factory, run by Rahman Shah, was located in a residential area, and nearby homes were severely impacted by the explosion. This incident highlights the growing issue of unauthorized firecracker manufacturing units in Uttar Pradesh, which continue to operate despite previous explosions.

Just 15 days earlier, a similar explosion in Firozabad killed five people, including two children, and destroyed several homes. Despite these frequent incidents, illegal firecracker factories persist, posing serious risks to public safety. Authorities have been criticized for their lack of strict action, as such factories continue to operate in residential areas, endangering lives. Investigations are ongoing, and officials are now on-site to assess the situation and prevent further disasters.
