Bihar: Students Beat Teachers After Dispute Over Sweets During Independence Day Celebrations At Buxar School

Buxar, Bihar: In an unusual turn of events, students at Murar High School in Buxar resorted to violence on Thursday, attacking teachers after a dispute over the distribution of sweets during the Independence Day celebrations. Following the incident, the aggrieved teachers, along with the principal, approached the Murar police station to lodge a complaint. However, they were delayed due to the ongoing flag-hoisting ceremony at the station.

According to reports, the altercation began after the Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony when a group of students, some of whom were not enrolled in the school, demanded sweets from the teachers. The teachers refused, stating that the sweets were only for current students. This led to a heated exchange, during which one of the teachers was pushed to the ground. Another teacher, Pankaj Kumar, intervened, which escalated the situation further, with the students causing a commotion on the main road.

Murar police were alerted and arrived at the scene, successfully calming the situation. The teachers, who were on their way home after the incident, were again confronted by the alleged students on the Koran Sarai-Bagen main road. The students reportedly surrounded and assaulted Pankaj Kumar, using abusive language. Other teachers arrived shortly after to assist.

Later, some of the teachers went to the Murar police station to file a formal complaint. However, they had to wait as the Independence Day ceremony was still in progress. After informing the police of the situation, the teachers left the station without filing the complaint and returned home.

Some of the students present claimed that sweets were previously distributed to all attendees, regardless of enrollment, during school events. They alleged that the teachers were rude when they requested sweets this year.

However, the school principal, Sushil Kumar, dismissed these claims as baseless. Murar Police Station Officer Kamalnayan Pandey confirmed that they received information about the assault on the teachers and that the police are investigating the incident from various angles.
