EPFO ATM Card and Mobile App: Major Update for EPF Account Holders

EPFO ATM Card and Mobile App: The Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced a significant update for its members. By June 2025, EPFO plans to launch its advanced system, EPFO 3.0, introducing new features like ATM cards and a mobile app to enhance user convenience. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya shared this during a recent press briefing, highlighting efforts to make EPFO services on par with modern banking systems.

Key Features of EPFO 3.0

Members will soon receive ATM cards, enabling them to access their EPF savings quickly. Withdrawing funds in financial emergencies or for unexpected expenses will become easier.

Improved Website Interface

The EPFO website will be revamped to offer a more user-friendly experience, ensuring smooth navigation for members.

A dedicated app for EPF accounts will allow members to monitor monthly contributions, pension funds, and past contributions from previous employers.

When Can Members Use the ATM Cards?

Union Labour Secretary Sumita Dawra has stated that members will be able to withdraw funds using ATM cards by 2025. However, withdrawals will be capped at 50% of the total EPF balance, ensuring financial stability for the future.

Flexibility in Pension Contributions

EPFO is also exploring a new scheme to offer more flexibility in the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS). Under this proposal, employees may contribute more or less than the current 12% limit, depending on their preferences.

Benefits of the New EPFO System

The EPFO 3.0 aims to streamline processes, improve accessibility, and provide members greater control over their retirement funds. This update will benefit both domestic and international EPFO members.

Modern Banking Experience with EPFO

The new system is designed to bring EPFO services closer to the level of modern banking systems, providing convenience, speed, and transparency to its members.
