How to Download Ayushman Card: Free ₹5 Lakh Health Coverage for Senior Citizens Explained!

The Ayushman Card can be easily downloaded both online and at kiosks in hospitals. Following the Government of India’s decision to extend coverage of its flagship healthcare scheme, the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), to all senior citizens aged 70 and above, many families are eager to get their elderly members enrolled to avoid costly medical expenses. Eligible senior citizens receive coverage under this scheme entirely free of charge. The Government of India has declared AB PM-JAY as the world's largest universal healthcare initiative.
How Many Ayushman Cards Can Senior Citizens in a Family Download?
In a family, up to two senior citizens can download Ayushman Cards. Together, they will be entitled to health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per year, which can be used at any empaneled hospital. However, it's important to note that the ₹5 lakh coverage is shared between the two senior citizens and not allocated separately. Therefore, both individuals will split the coverage limit.
