Jaipur: Child Clings to Kidnapper, Crying Loudly; Abductor Also Breaks Down in Tears After 14-Month-Long Abduction
In a heart-wrenching incident, Jaipur police successfully recovered a two-year-old boy, Prithvi, also known as Kuku, who was abducted 14 months ago from the Sanganer area. The scene at the police station was emotional and unexpected when the child clung to his kidnapper, crying loudly, while the accused also shed tears. Here's the full story of this emotional event.
Child Clings to Kidnapper
The boy, Prithvi, was found in the custody of his abductor, Tanuj Chahar, who was arrested by the police. At the police station, Prithvi repeatedly hugged Tanuj and refused to let go. The police officers had to forcibly separate the child from the kidnapper and return him to his mother. The accused, too, broke down in tears during the reunion.
Shocking Statement by the Accused
Tanuj Chahar, a suspended head constable of the Uttar Pradesh Police, made a startling claim, insisting that Prithvi was his son. He also repeatedly attempted to communicate with the child’s mother, leading the police to suspect a possible love affair behind the abduction.
Kidnapper Took Care of the Child, But Committed a Crime
Despite keeping the child captive for 14 months, Tanuj did not harm Prithvi. He treated the boy as his own, fulfilling his every need and raising him with care. However, his crime caught up with him, and the police arrested him in Aligarh, subsequently bringing him to Jaipur.
Police Statement and Further Actions
According to Jaipur Deputy Commissioner of Police, Digant Anand, Prithvi was abducted on June 14, 2023, from the Sanganer area. Tanuj, along with his accomplices, had kidnapped the child from his home. After extensive efforts and raids across multiple states, the police finally apprehended Tanuj on August 27. He is currently in police custody, and further interrogation is underway to uncover more details about the case.
This case highlights the complexities and emotional challenges that law enforcement officers often face in their duty to protect and serve. The child’s attachment to his abductor, despite the crime committed, adds a poignant layer to the investigation.
