Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sukanta Majumdar Steal the Show on Fashion Ramp, Outshine Models

Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sukanta Majumdar left everyone stunned as they showed off their talents on the fashion ramp in New Delhi on December 7, 2024. The two leaders took part in the Ashtalakshmi Festival Fashion Show, promoting the vibrant styles of Northeast India while wearing traditional Northeastern jackets.

This fashion show was a part of the three-day Ashtalakshmi Festival, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Northeast India, aiming to highlight its textile industry, craftsmanship, and unique GI-tagged products. The fashion show featured regional designs, placing Northeastern styles in the spotlight.

The festival, described as a "celebration of culture and creativity" by Scindia, who also oversees the Ministry of Communications and Development of the Northeastern Region, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his experience of the fashion show on the Northeast India vibrant styles! He further stated that every state was very well represented by talented artists and models.

Ashtalakshmi Festival:
The Ashtalakshmi Festival has various activities such as craft exhibitions, state-specific pavilions, technical sessions, and investor summits. The festival is to promote economic opportunities in traditional crafts, handlooms, agriculture, and tourism. It also celebrates the cultural contributions of the eight Northeastern states, collectively referred to as "Ashtalakshmi" or the eight forms of prosperity.
