Love, Sex Chats, and Deception in Ghaziabad: Woman Shocked to Discover the Truth About 'NSA Official' After Dating App Friendship
In a recent case of online fraud, a woman has been swindled out of ₹22 lakhs by a man who posed as a chief data analyst at the National Security Agency (NSA) on a dating app. The accused, identified as Akash Agarwal, initially made contact with the victim through the app on July 5. He presented himself as a government employee working for the NSA and claimed to be from Kota, Rajasthan, currently residing in Delhi's Safdarjung Enclave.
The fraudster claimed that his parents were in the military, stationed in the Galwan Valley, and that he was due for a promotion. He manipulated the situation by stating that his bank account would be frozen from July 10 to August 3 due to this promotion. During this period, he fabricated various excuses, including illness and accidents, to solicit money from the woman.
The deception escalated when Agarwal initiated sexual conversations and sent inappropriate videos to the victim. The woman, outraged, ceased communication for several days. However, concerned about the money she had already given him, she resumed contact. Agarwal continued to fabricate stories, including claiming that his mother had passed away, for which he solicited ₹11,000 for the funeral.
Subsequently, Agarwal made several other requests, citing personal health issues and emergencies involving his father, ultimately extracting a total of ₹22.33 lakhs from the woman. Despite her attempts to meet him, Agarwal consistently avoided any direct meetings, further raising her suspicions.
The woman conducted her own investigation and discovered that the address Agarwal provided in Safdarjung Enclave was false. Additionally, the hospital where he claimed to be admitted in Bengaluru did not exist. When she asked for identification, Agarwal provided a fake ID that matched another fraudulent document she found online.
Frustrated and alarmed, the victim lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police Station. A case has been registered, and the authorities are investigating the elaborate scam.
