Outrageous! Husband Grants Triple Talaq After Wife Goes Out Alone for Morning Walk

An utterly bizarre incident took place in Thane's Mumbra area, as a 31-year-old man uttered triple talaq on his wife simply because she had gone out alone for her morning walk. The fact has alarmed everybody and grabbed tremendous attention especially considering the laws against triple talaq all over India.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the wife, a 25-year-old woman, had decided to take a solitary morning walk. When she was not found, the husband became highly agitated and impulsively pronounced triple talaq over the phone, thereby divorcing her on the spot. In an attempt to escalate the matter, he also contacted his father-in-law, informing him of the declaration of triple talaq.

Legal Action Initiated

Given that triple talaq has been declared unconstitutional and illegal under the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019, the husband's actions have serious legal repercussions. Two days ago, on Friday, the distressed wife filed a complaint at Shivaji Nagar Police Station in Thane. The police have filed a charge sheet under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 351-4, which deals with forced divorce, as well as provisions of the Muslim Marriage Act.
