At the time of the crash, five Air Force personnel, including two pilots, were on board. Fortunately, all were rescued safely by local villagers.

Bihar is currently grappling with severe floods, affecting over 1.6 million people across the state. The Air Force has been deployed to assist in rescue operations and provide essential supplies to flood-affected areas. Alongside the police, NDRF, and SDRF, the Air Force helicopters have been distributing food and relief materials to those stranded due to the rising waters.

On the day of the crash, the helicopter was returning from a relief mission in Sitamarhi when it experienced a technical malfunction.
