The recent wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Asia’s richest businessman Mukesh Ambani, has drawn global attention. According to media reports, Mukesh Ambani spent an astounding ₹5,000 crore on his son’s lavish wedding, sparking political debates across India.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised concerns about the extravagant expenditure during a rally in Bahadurgarh, Haryana. Gandhi questioned the source of such wealth, stating, “Ambani spent thousands of crores on his son's wedding. Whose money is this? You take loans for your children's weddings, but the system allows just 25 people to spend crores on theirs.” He further emphasized that such wealth disparity is an attack on the Indian Constitution, highlighting the financial struggles of ordinary citizens.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding took place on July 12, 2024, at Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), attended by celebrities, politicians, and global business leaders. Despite the grandeur, the focus remained on the wedding's massive budget. Financial experts estimate that the cost of the wedding represented just 0.5% of Mukesh Ambani’s total net worth, fueling discussions on wealth inequality.
