Rudraksha Baba Becomes the Center of Attraction at Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj
Geetanand Maharaj, popularly known as Rudraksha Baba, has become a major attraction at the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. Arriving from Haryana’s Awahan Akhada, Geetanand Maharaj dons an extraordinary spiritual attire, wearing a 45 kg Rudraksha crown on his head, created from approximately 2,500 Rudraksha malas arranged in the shape of a Shivling. Along with this unique headgear, he also wears a Rudraksha armor across his body, amounting to a total of 250,000 Rudraksha beads. His appearance at the Kumbh is nothing short of awe-inspiring, drawing large crowds of devotees and photographers keen to capture moments with the Baba.
The story of Geetanand Maharaj’s dedication to spirituality is rooted in his vow made during the 2019 Kumbh, where he decided to wear a symbolic number of Rudraksha beads for 12 years. Starting with 1.25 lakh Rudrakshas, his collection has grown, and devotees now present him with more beads, which he arranges meticulously in a spiritual formation. His journey will culminate in 2031 at the Prayagraj Kumbh, marking the completion of his vow.
Apart from his iconic Rudraksha ensemble, Geetanand Maharaj is deeply committed to his spiritual practices. Known for his long hours of meditation on the Ganga sands, he dedicates himself to the welfare of mankind, viewing the entire human race as his family. His practices resonate deeply with the values of Sanatan Dharma, which he actively promotes.
Geetanand Maharaj’s admiration for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is evident, as he praises him for effectively managing the state and strengthening Sanatan Dharma. As the Maha Kumbh 2025 unfolds, Rudraksha Baba’s presence continues to inspire and attract spiritual seekers from all over the country.
